I’m wagering this will be GREAT. Everyone look!
Multiversity gave Freak Out Squares a once over, and gave it a really positive review. They did, rightly, bemoan the lack of a digital option, which we’ve now remedied. Head over to www.gumroad.com/rfcomics to get a PDF of the first issue.
Read this, buy this, tell me you love it
Finally making a definitive post of my Team Girl Issue 10 cover - woop woop!
To say I had a blast drawing this would be an understatement. It’s probably the mot ambitious single piece I’ve ever embarked on, and I am beyond pleased with how it turned out in the end.
The issue itself is gonna be mega, 22 brand new comics, including entries from Donya Todd, Hannah Berry, Kate Charlesworth, Lucy Sweet and Trina Robbins! You can pre-order it here, and you probably should cause it’s gonna be epic.
This is a lovely cover! Dem colours!
Freak Out Squares is done, and you can buy it HERE.
I’m really proud of how this book has come together, with exceptional work from Garry Mac (art), Harry Saxon (colours) and Colin Bell (Lettering & Production) that’s resulted in a freewheeling, ultra-colourful comic with a real sense of fun.
Following the exploits of a young man who is crushed to discover that his hero - cosmic rock god Johnny Orion - is not the idol he was promised, Freak Out Squares is sugar coated cynicism. A series of neon-bright Pop comics, with everyone involved producing stellar work.
If you like the look of the preview pages you can either pick up a copy at the web store, or come see me and Garry at MCM London in a weeks time (23rd - 25th) and get one from us in person.
Look at this. FUCKING LOOK AT IT IT’S GREAT. Career highs for everyone involved.
I heartily recommend it. Go buy it!
A pin-up from my new comic Freak Out Squares, which should launch mid-may all being well. Art on this piece here by Iain Laurie, and colours by Lesley Atlansky. More info on the book coming soon!
Iain has his first worldwide release coming out shortly through Comix Tribe, on the seriously creepy, seriously good “And Then Emily Was Gone”, written by John Lees. Anyone looking for more of his work should let their LCS know they want in on the action.
Pin up from Harry French and Garry Mac’s FREAK OUT SQUARES by Iain Laurie, colours by Lesley Atlansky.
The thing about Freak Out Squares is that I can see all four members of the creative team (me, Harry F, Harry S, Garry) using it as a calling card for the indefinite future. It’s that good, and we’ve all raised our game accordingly.
So check it out when it comes out okay?
